Abstract

Global Positioning System (GPS), originally developed by the US military, positioning jumps, such as those shown in picture 1, bedame a thing of the past. Even in urban envionments, positioning precision within a range of less than 10 m is now commonplace. Satellite positioning has thus taken on great significance for traffic telematics applications.
