Abstract

The international CUBI forum strives to validate thermal modelling software on a welldefined, simple geometric object. The CUBI at DLR is isolated inside by a 60mm layer of rock wool and has 47 Pt100 temperature sensors in order to get the spatial distribution of temperature on the object. The CUBI is now placed outdoors in an almost shadowfree environment (Ground Station Weilheim, Germany). We record the temperature values and compare them to the result of a simulation by RadThermIR with weather data imported from a nearby positioned weather station. In this talk, we discuss the agreement between simulation and experiment under certain different weather conditions.
