Abstract
Within the framework of GMES, the German research project DeMarine-Environment develops and improves user specific remote sensing services for environmental monitoring. The following fields are served: coastal water quality monitoring, oil spill drift forecast, monitoring of intertidal flats and improvement of numerical model forecast by data assimilation. All services are provided at a pre-operational level.
