Abstract

This paper describes the concept development of birdstrike resistant external pods for the research aircraft "HALO" according to the "Certification Specification for Large Aeroplanes" (CS-25, CS25.631 respectively).Furthermore it describes its support by numerical High Velocity Impact (HVI) simulations and an experimental test programme.
