Processing images out of ISAR-data measured on a tower-turntable by a stepped frequency system with a tomo-graphical procedure will be appropriate concerning the image accurracy. Nevertheless the computational burden is quite high. In this paper we compare alternative methods and investigate a kind of hybrid algorithm, where subapertures are processed in a polar format way and overlayed coherently in the image domain. This coherent subaperture method enables a compromise between image quality and computational effort.
