Abstract

The paper describes a cost-effective sensor concept for a fully polarimetric L-band spaceborne SAR instrument which makes use of the reflector antenna technology. Based on user requirements a SAR sensor design, the SAR performance, sensor mass budgets and revisit times of the system are described in detail. The potentials, advantages and limitations with respect to the user requirements are discussed.
