Abstract

In order to reveal the differences between military and vivil applications of remote sensing common military user requirements for the detection, recognition, identification, and revisit time of military targets are discussed. Typical application examples of imaging SAR and radiometer systems are given as well as design examples for advanced sensor systems demonstrating the technological realisation and limits.
