In this paper, a variety of optimization methods, e.g. Levenberg-Marquardt Algorithm and evolution strategy, are presented to estimate kinetic parameters of thermoset resin based on DSC experiments. Modified cure models are suggested by regarding the degree of maximum conversion to account for diffusion effects. A 3-dimensional FE-model is built in order to simulate the curing process of pure thermoset resin. Cure models and cure shrinkage models are implemented by compiled subroutines. Stress and deformation development during the curing process are demonstrated, which are induced by temperature and degree of cure gradients.
