Abstract

In this talk, the effects of spatial and spectral stray light on the radiometric calibration of hyperspectral pushbroom sensors are discussed. Specific attention is paid to the hyperspectral sensor ROSIS. Due to construction, the channels in the blue part of the spectrum are sensitive to red and infrared light, which, due to the usually lower intensity in the blue spectrum leads to errors in the magnitude of more than 100%. As this is clearly unsatisfactory, this stray light effect has been characterised and quantified with the help of laboratory measurements carried out in the Calibration Home Base in Oberpfaffenhofen. As hardware modifications of ROSIS are not feasible, the correction of this effect has to be done in software. Different approaches for this are presented.
