Abstract

This technician internship was carried out during a three-month stay in Stuttgart Germany in the DLR (German Aerospace Center), national research centre for aeronautics and space. The subject concerned a Finite Element Method study with the reduction of a ceramic nozzle extension with the software Ansys 11 Workbench. A thermic, static structural and modal analysis was necessary to determine the capacities of resistance under high stresses, before starting the true tests. The second aim of the internship subject was to test ceramic tensile specimens in order to determine mechanical properties such as the Poisson Ratio and the Young Modulus and then enter these into a database.
