Abstract

This document provides an overview about the technical flights conducted with DLR’s EC 135 FHS experimental helicopter at Bremen airport (EDDW) in the frame of the European Project OPTIMAL. The technical flights have demonstrated the rotorcraft system’s 3D/4D flight guidance capabilities and have confirmed the practical flyability of the helicopter-specific steep and curved IFR approach procedure initially developed for Bremen airport (EDDW).
