Abstract

In order to analyse the hardware instrument phase drift, special characterisation measurements were performed on ground. The measuring setup of these on-ground measurements was built up in such a way that the signals only pass parts of the synchronisation link being the transmit and/or receive hardware paths. With the help of the measurement results the author aims to find a dependency of the hardware phase drift and temperature changes of the hardware, also being stored during the measurements. After that, different approaches to predict the hardware phase drift by using information about the instrument temperature and temperature change respectively, are investigated. With their help a hardware phase drift compensation is performed and the results are evaluated.
