Abstract

The aim of this work is to create two panels, which show a significant postbuckling region as well as an early material failure. Those panels will be the used in further investigations of the influence of material failure growth on the collapse behaviour of stringerstiffened fibre composite panels. The first part of this work gives an overview of theoretical aspects involved in the design. Basics of shell theory will be discussed in Chapter 2. Chapter 3 gives an overview of fibre composite material design, while Chapter 4 does the same for adhesive joints. Chapter 5 discusses the basics of the Finite Element Method in general and the solving of nonlinear stability problems in particular. Part 2 shows the design process in Chapter 6 and a throughout discussion in Chapter 7.
