Abstract

This report presents the results of ditching simulations conducted on the forward sponson of the CN235-300M using the explicit finite-element code PAM-CRASH in order to support its ditching certification. The aim is to investigate the response of the rivets at the junction between the fuselage and the forward sponson during ditching basing on test run 25 corresponding to configuration II, which is the likely aircraft ditching configuration. Particularly, rivet failure is of interest.
