Abstract

A combined GO/PO approximation for the scattering matrix of a target placed above a ground plane [A. Osipov and E. Kemptner, EuCAP 2006, Nice, France, 2006-11-06 – 2006-11-10] has been applied to the simulation of RCS of a perfectly electrically conducting sphere placed above a layered dielectric half space (test case no.5). Submitted results include two figures (HH and VV polarization cases) showing monostatic RCS as a function of the aspect (zenith) angle for the sphere radius either 2 m or 4 m at a frequency 1 GHz. The simulations have been performed by using the bistatic electromagnetic scattering simulation environment BISTRO-2 which is being developed in DLR Microwaves and Radar Institute.
