Abstract
The three-dimensional structure of time-mean eddy statistics and the time evolution of longitude-height sections suggest that the storm tracks form a single structure in the upper troposphere and indicate that eddies regularly propagate from the Pacific to the Atlantic. The model of storm tracks as independent meta-systems is inadequate.
