Abstract

A new operating condition has been designed for the High Enthalpy Shock Tunnel Göttingen (HEG). It corresponds to the free-flight conditions expected during the SHEFEX and HYSHOT free-flight experiments and duplicates Mach 8 flight at 28km altitude. The new operating condition was designed using a semi-analytic approach and then verified with an end-to-end facility simulation code.
