A method for the spectral calibration of hyperspectral imagery is presented using atmospheric absorption features. The basis is the calculation of the spectral shift that minimizes the error in the surfaces reflectance. This is performed with an optimization that minimizes the deviation between a surface reflectance spectrum and a low-passed filtered spectrum. A sensitivity study is included and the method is applied to different airborne and satellite hyperspectral sensors
