At DLR Goettingen the Laser-Two-Focus Technique (L2F) is routinely applied to qcquire flow field information for cascade and turbomachine flows. An update of the electronic part of the system led to improved performance especially when taking measurements in a rotor. The measurement procedure was automated and accelerated by controlling the system by a personal computer. The spatial resolutionwas improved by dividing the blade pitch into 32 segments. The fully two-dimensional histogram is stored i.e. a time-of-flight histogram at every angle. The evaluation grogram was rewritten. The storage of the two-dimenional histogram has several advantages: The evaluated data are more accurate, especially the measured turbulence intensities.
