Abstract

LIF measurements in the stagnation region of a cylinder model in HEG,at condition I, have been carried out. The NO molecule was was excited by an ArF excimer laser at 193 nm using various NO transitions. The aim of the tests was to investigate if LIF signals could be obtained in the stagnation region of a cylinder model. The shock stand-off distance was determined from the spatially and spectrally resolved luminosity images. Two HEG runs were available for reproducibility checks of LIF signals. Furthermore a single laser/ two line method was used in order to give an estimation of vibrational temperatures.
