Abstract
The heat transfer, recovery temperature, pressure force, and shear force were measured on a LiF single crystal disk in nearly free molecular flow at 60 deg to 90 deg angle of attack in a helium free jet wind tunnel. The scattering distribution of the same crystal was measured afterwards in a helium molecular beam system. The measurements offer a new opportunity to link macroscopic data with the knowlledge of the microscopic surface properties and the scattering distribution.
