Abstract

A set of five PIV recordings from the DLR database has been evaluated by a number of GARTEUR member teams including DLR. The results of the evaluations are compared during this presentation. Aside from a qualitative comparison of the velocity vector maps the obtained data are quantitatively related using statistical quantities. The statistics are based on the number of detected vectors, the number of outlier vectors (holes) and percentages therof. Further the mean and RMS values of the two available components in the velocity vector maps are computed and compated. By plotting histograms of the velocity data unwanted artifacts, such as binning, in the different evaluation systems have been discovered.
