Abstract
LIF measurements on TH2 at 3MJ kg-1/Mach 8.4 conditions are analysed for the freestream and cylinder bow shock gas flows. A freestream NO rotational temperature and concentration were determined. Results show fai agreement with theory, although the poor S/N ratios in the measurements led to large measurement uncertainties. Although a quantitative analysis of the shock-heated gases was not possible at this stage, certain trends and freatures could be discussed.
