Abstract

A nonintrusive optical model displacement monitoring system is presented, which was primarily developed for wind tunnel model monitoring purposes but proved to be extremely versatile, reliable, and easy to handle, mainly due to its design principles of operating with a variable number of independent optical sensing units and needing no special preparation of the object to be monitored except for a sufficiently high lighting contrast between object and background.
