Numerical simulation of local disturbances in absolutely/ convectively unstable flow by a vortex method

Ehrhard, J. and Delfs, J. and Meiburg, E. (1996) Numerical simulation of local disturbances in absolutely/ convectively unstable flow by a vortex method. In: Proc. EUROMECH Colloquium 353 "Dynamics of localized disturbances in engineering flows", Karlsruhe, 1.-3.4.1996., pp. 30-31.

Abstract

It is shown that by means of a vortex-method the linear dynamics of unstable wave packets in a wake flow can be accurately simulated. The nonlinear evolution of wave packets is shown as well.
