Abstract

The MegaFlow project consists of two great parts which are MegaCads for grid generation and FLOWer to solve the three- dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations. MegaCads supports the generation of a structured multiblock grid. This means that the domain of interest is split into regions, for each of which the generation of a structured grid is realized. Then, before getting into the flow solver the grid generator has to create a so called topology file. This file contains all necessary information about grid connectivity and orientation, i.e. the relationships between all neighbouring blocks and the boundary conditions. It is still a problem that no topology information is created during the grid generation process and for complex configurations the user needs more than a week to create it. The external interface,LOGIC, was written to overcome this problem for the near future until MegaCads serves both: grid and topology generation. Then.
