The present report summarizes the DLR contribution to ESA X-CRV days study, WPs-1100, 2100 and 3100. Two flow conditions are considered, a Ma* = 10 cold wind tunnel flow - to be used for comparison with other contributors and a flight trajectory point at Ma* = 25, H = 75 Km. In both cases flow simulations without and with deflected body-flap are performed. The objective of the present study is the accurate prediction of the aerodynamics coefficient and heat fluxes, particular for the case with deflected control surface. The accuracy of the solutions are addressed by means of grid convergence studies. The influence of the flow model employed is investigated comparing Euler solutions with Navier-Stokes solutions in thermochemical equilibrium and non-equilibrium. Since most of the simulations are carried out neglecting the base flow and also with closed body-flap- slots, it is investigated the effects of these simplifications on the flow simulations.
