Abstract

After preliminary theoretical and experimental studies on several Airbus airfoils with and without optimized trailing edge it was decided to investigate a clean A320 wing with a modified trailing edge. As a first step optimized trailing edges for three airfoils of different span stations of the A320-wing have been developed. This report contains the results of 2D analysis calculations at DLR for these airfoils which show a reduction of the drag for the prescribed lift coefficients for the optimized airfoils can be obtained.
