Abstract

A Radar Interferometric Topography Mission designed to acquire digital elevation maps of the earth surface from the space shuttle is described and its performance estimated. The system is based on the SIR-C/X-SAR radar flown on the shuttle in 1994. The single pass interferometer is build with a 60 m long mast deployed on the space shuttle secondary antenna.
