Abstract

After some introductory notes with respect to the need for novel, advanced sensors for surface movement guidance and controlthe DLR Near-Range Radar System (NRN) will be explained and a general system description will be given. The functional characteristics and the structure of a single radar station will be discussed in detail. The so-called rolling status for a plurality of targets including classification can be derived.
