Abstract
Between February 11 and 22, 2000 the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) mapped the Earth's relief. It was jointly performed by NASA, ASI and DLR. Onboard the Shuttle Endeavour two antenna-pairs operating in C- and X-band were simultaneously illuminating and recording radar signals which will be processed to a digital elevation model within the next two years. The paper focuses on the products of the X-SAR system, the status of the calibration and describes the production and archiving system.
