Abstract
The mechanism of gravity-dependent spatial orientation (gravitaxis) of unicellular pelagic protozoa is still unknown. Therefore we want to analyze the swimming behavior of Paramecium under the conditions of weightlessness. By microscopical observation of swimming tracks and velocities during a TEXUS flight, we expect to gain further knowledge on the basic mechanism of gravitaxis of single cells.
