Abstract

At DLR research center Lampoldshausen a small test facility for basic investigations of cryogenic oxygen/hydrogen combustion, the M3 Micro-Combustor Facility, is operated which is designed for pressuresup to 2 MPa. Velocity measurements using Droplet Tracking Velocimetry are presented. Complete velocity vector fields of instantaneous droplet velocities are measured and the development of the flow-field and the state of the combustion is derived for three combustion chamber pressures. The influence of higher pressures on Spray disintegration and atomization is shown. Correlations of droplet size and velocity are presented. The development of radial and axial velocities is evaluated.
