From the geometry of the laminar glove of the Fokker F100 a two-dimensional wing section has been derived. For various flow conditions (M- and Re-number) the influence of loss of laminarity on the airfoil performance has been studied numerically by considering different chordwise positions of the transition locations. The most remarkable result was that the airfoil drag was increased by more than a factor of 2, when the airfoil lost completely its laminar boundary layers.
