Abstract

A 3D-Navier-Stokes Code for the calculation of isolated, axisymmetrical engine flow is presented. For an adequate determination of complex jet flows the algebraic turbulence model has been modified and verified with data of a TPS experiment. The flow field of an actual turbofan engine is compared with the flow fields of its TPS, showing the influence of the turbine jet on the external flow. The influence of a correct inlet-mass flow simulation is shown by means of a modified, theoretical TPS.
