This paper describes the new DLR Ku-Band Monitoring & Control (M&C) System, the additional features and benefits, the lessons learned during implementation and perspectives for further development. The new Ku-Band system was established with an 11m Ku-Band antenna at the GSOC (German Space Operation Center) ground station in Weilheim. The Ku-band station being a joint project between DLR and Telekom constituted the need for this M&C system to serve not only the routine functions of Telekom, operating from theirstation near Frankfurt, but also the tasks such as Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) operations or scientific missions performed from the ground station or from the GSOC control center.
