Abstract

Int the framework of the MOMS PRIRODA camera experiment on board the Russian MIR space station in the beginning of 1996, a mission planning software package is developed for the observation of certain areas on the Earths surface. Part of this software package is a library with flight dynamics routines in order to facilitate the main tasks like the propagation of an MIR orbit, the check for ground point illumination, the check for visibility of the MIR space station from a ground point, the check for satellite lighting conditions and the view point of the camera on the Earths surface. Some other tools complete the MPORB software library to fulfill all necessary orbit related functions from the mission planners point of view.
