Abstract

Flow field measurements with a stereoscopic PIV-system were performed behind the DLR-ALVAST half-model in a high lift configuration with and without an ultrahigh bypass ratio engine simulator in the DNW-NWB Low-Speed Wind Tunnel Braunschweig at Mach numbers of 0.18 and 0.22 (≈ 62 m/s and ≈ 76 m/s). In the plane behind the engine, the vortex position and strength strongly depended on thrust and angle of attack.
