Abstract
The presentation introduced basic aerosol properties relevant for human health aspects. Physico-chemical properties of particles emitted from aircraft engines were presented, using data from recent field studies. The current status of international activities on the harmonisation of aerosol measurement methods for the application to aircraft engine emission studies was briefly reviewed.
