Abstract

The report describes the DLR/ONERA ERATO rotor test in the German/Dutch wind tunnel (DNW) in detail. From all measurement techniques applied representative results are presented. The test confirms the predicted noise reductions obtained with this new blade design. The higher the loading of the rotor, the larger the noise gains are. Additionally the power reyuired in fast forward flight is less than a reference rotor requires.
