Abstract

A model of rapid solidification as a particular problem of nonequilibrium phase transitions is discussed. Analytical and numerical solutions of tasks for crystal pattern formation in metallic systems are summerized and reviewed. Predictions of the model are compared to experimental data of rapid solidification of metallic systems.
