Abstract
The idea of a digital radar is not new to the remote sensing community and can be found in open literature. Previous works have shown, that a digital beamforming (DBF) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) opens the possibility for a totally new dimension in system performance. This paper treats a novel DBF SAR processing algorithm, which can be interlaced with existing SAR processing tools. The idea behind this approach is to pre-process the data in such a way, that conventional processing can later be used on the data.
