The numerical simulation of the flowfield around a whole high-lift element with deployed slat and flap is a problem of outstanding importance. Additionally, environmental concerns require substantial reductions in noise and emission prediction. Therefore, research activities have been intensified over the last years including both numerical and experimental efforts. The objective of this study is twofold: 1) to assess the capability of an hybrid RANS/LES method to handle a high-lift configuration with deployed slat and flap 2) to carry out detailed comparison of numerical results with the Europiv2 PIV experimental data.
