Abstract
Besides technological demonstration the MOS-IRS experiment focuses on algorithm development and case studies over turbid coastal waters. The high spectral resolution and number of spectral channels of MOS provide for the first time spaceborne measurements that allow detailed studies of the specific methodological requirements for case-2 algorithms as well as to demonstrate the potential for case-2 waters remote sensing. The paper first reviews the specifics of the problem and then gives examples for results obtained so far.
