This paper summarises recent results of research on the breakup of turbulent liquid jets. In order to investigate the influences of different injection conditions and ambient pressure on the breakup, cold-flow experiments are performed using liquid nitrogen (LN2) at 100 K which is injected into gaseous nitrogen at 300 K. The injection velocities range from 1 to 20 m/s, the ambient pressure from 1 to 6 MPa. The injector diameter is 1.9 mm.
