The influence of various turbulence models (Baldwin-Lomax, Spalart-Allmaras,k-omega, SST k-omega) and transition models (Chen-Thyson with various transition onset criteria) in calculations involving unsteady separated flows (dynamic stall and shock buffet) is tested. The results are compared against experimental data and other published calculations. For these very sensitive flow problems different turbulence models produce very different results, which also depend on the details of the implementation of a particular turbulence model, even if the same Navier-Stokes solver scheme is used.
