Abstract

Computational fluid dynamics has great potential in the analysis of the unsteady aerodynamics associated with elastic aircraft. Accurate computations of these unsteady configurations can lead to a greater understanding of the non-linear flow dynamics and, as a natural consequence, one can expect improvements in both aircraft performance and safety. This paper discusses the applications of the DLR-TAU code in the analysis of unsteady aerodynamic configurations.
