The flow of particles in the turbulent wake of a rectangular obstacle has been determined quantitatively using by means of particle-image-velocimetry (PIV). Hence it was possible to obtain the instantaneous velocity field of the particles and information about the structures formed by the dispersed phase. To achieve knowledge of the influence of the Stokes-Number on the particle flow the particle diameter has been varied. Also different Reynoldsnumbers of the mean flow, i.e. mean velocities, and grids for turbulence generation have been utilized in this investigation. I strong influence of the particle diameter onto the velocity distribution in the wake region has been found. The particle velocity in opposite has only a small effect onto the velocity distribution.
