Abstract

The High Enthalpy Shock Tunnel Göttingen (HEG) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) was recently equipped with a conical nozzle. For two different HEG operating conditions, calibration results of this nozzle will be presented. The measured free stream quantities: Pitot pressure, density, static pressure, temperature and velocity will be compared with computations using the DLR CEVCATS-N code. For both conditions the arrival of helium driver gas in the test section and the selection of useful test time will also be discussed
