In this paper a computational scheme for the simulation of viscous flows around complex geometries on hybrid grids is described. The presented scheme employs the dual grid method. The computational efficiency is increased by the utilizationof a multigrid algorithm and a memory optimized data structure adapted to the architecture of modern vector computers. Furthermore, the flow calculation can be parallelized on the basis of domain decomposition. In order to assess the accuracy of solutions obtained on hybrid grids, comparisons between the hybrid code and a validated structured scheme are presented.
